What are your thoughts around the handling/mishandling of the military’s murder of Vanessa Guillen?

The U.S. military is pervasively violent—not only in its mission, but also towards its own servicemembers, particularly women. Rape in the military is horrifingly common, and all alleged incidents demand both investigation and accountability. The circumstances of Vanessa’s murder were especially galling, and we support renaming the base once known as Ft. Hood in her honor, in addition to investigating and holding her attacker responsible.
