Internet access to all

I favor public investments and expansion in municipal broadband infrastructure, through which fiber or wireless backhaul owned by the public can be made available for lease or operation by local ISPs.

I have certainly seen the broadband and telecom industries prey on the public, by leveraging local monopolies and slow walking expansions and upgrades in service. Our nation has some of the lowest levels of broadband reach in the world despite having invented the Internet, which reflects on the failures of policymakers who preceded us.
